I've finally finished watching this 2 part series. The actually story is still in progress, but the anime has ended. I've to say I'm very satisfied with the development of Shuurei's character and how the plot brings all the characters together and against each other. It can be quite boring at times, but a little patience from the viewers will reap rewards, certainly.

I have to say though, the main male leads are quite boring and dull. I have no idea why the emperor's popularity is so high... I'm totally with Reishin (Shuurei's 2nd uncle) and Sho Taishi, that he is so immature and stupid. The only thing I have with this story is that Shuurei is bound to end up with this idiot sooner or later. Fine. Given he is inexperienced and pampered, but the whole story kept emphasizing that he is so lonely the more he learns to be the highest one up there in the heirachy, it becomes so irritating! Grow up and start to manage your govt already!

Seiran was interesting in the first season, but in the 2nd he kinda disappeared... I also dunno wat to say abt him....

I think the 2 antagonist in the first season was more interesting than all the guys added together... 茶太保and 茶朔洵. The first seemingly plotted to overthrow the emperor, but in actual fact wanted the emperor to use this as an excuse to eradicate the corrupted Sa family and free 茶州. How brilliant.
The latter, a very eerily intelligent guy who even outsmarts Seiran... And he fell for Shuurei. If only he lived a little longer...Because I thought he was actually succeeding in courting Shuurei's heart... How she cried for him...

And talking about Shuurei's love life.... There are so many pairings for her, but mostly the king or Seiran. However, I'm actually inclining towards Ensei. But for heaven's sake, there has only been ONE fanfic on them, and Kirin acutally has more than him! 都不知道他们怎么把两个人扯到一起...

Why I support Ensei X Shuurei?

Just look at the love!
Shuurei has never. NEVER. flung herself onto anyone, ANYONE, (ok...maybe kirin, but that was due to fear), before, with such joy and exuberence!
And in the 2nd half of the 2nd season, when she lets him out of jail, their reunion was so cute! Even tantan couldn't help commenting how loveydovey they were. Shuurei hugged his head, AND, let him get so close!
ALL THESE MUST MEAN SOMETHING AND IT DEFINITELY IS NOT JUST BROTHERLY-SISTERLY LOVE!

Just look how gentle he is....And ya, I know that Shuurei's ans is yes to the question... Heh ^_^

Tantan is always the insightful one. But still, at the end of it all, he still does not admit it. Sigh...

Basilisk Review

This is not a new anime. My interest surfaced because of a recommendation by a friend.

Short synopsis of the story (from Wiki):
The story takes place in the year 1614. Two ninja clans, Tsubagakure of the Iga and Manjidani of Kouga, battle each other to determine which grandson of Tokugawa Ieyasu will become the next shogun. The deadly competition between 10 elite ninja from each clan unleashes a centuries-old hatred that threatens to destroy all hope for peace between them.

Just by reading this synopsis, I know the ending won't be what I would like. But still, since this friend likes it so much, I gave it a try.

The first ep was not shy in giving me an intro to what is installed in this 24 ep story. The hard lines, the ugly faces, the crude fighting ways. I was appalled. But the ending of the first ep had me intrigued. Throughout the fighting scenes between the two youngsters, there were scenes of a young couple from progressed from loving, to discovering betrayal, to hatred and finally, loss. The ending of the first ep was the start to the competition and the head of both clans wasted no time in killing each other. But what shocked me was that, they were that young couple who turned foes. Seeing their aged form drifting away on the lake had that emotional impact on me. And i could foresee that the 2 main characters fate would be something similar...

So after this first ep, the story unfolded at super speed. The two clans wasted no time wiping out the names of the enemy of the namelist. At ep 10, Kouga clan had 5 people and Iga clan had 7 (one blind). My my...what hatred. And they don't know why they can't stand the others's existence. But as the story progress, their reasons pile up. Comrades, lovers, family killed by the enemy. What other stronger reason do they need to seek blood... Such a vicious cycle they have let themselves slip into...(But I have to admit the fight scenes were good. I knew they were all gonna die, but I didn't know who was going to die first. So that was a big luring factor that kept me hooked.)

And throughout all these...what were the 2 main characters doing? Gennosuke was quick to take up the responsibility of head of the clan. Given, when he knew about this shit, 5 comrades had already been killed. It would be unacceptable to not avenge their deaths. Oboro...er...well...with no power, she obviously would not be able to control them...especially Tenzen.

But I thought I saw a difference. While Gennosuke was quick to resign himself to fate, Oboro tried to resist (no matter how futile it was). Hence, it was easy to see what their choices would be. No pity for either sides though. - -

Now on the side characters...
IMO, Iga's pple left a more lasting impression than Kouga's. They had irritating people like Koshiro, downright scumbags like Tenzen, and the oh so lovely Akeginu (but her death was so stupid it is infuriating - -). And of course, egoistic Nenki and the useless Hotarubi...

It's so fascinating how crazy the female characters can be when they know of their lovers death. So much so that they were tricked and killed by the enemy. I couldn't care less about Hotarubi, who had numerous chances to expose the enemy's trick. But my dear Akeginu (always looking so hot in a kimono and without it =P ) ...

Sigh...

Heroic Age

A 26 ep animation produced by the same crew that gave us fafner..that is, assuming my guess is correct. The art, the music is so similar I had to assume. I had to try out this space genre that is becoming so rare. And I didn't regret it.

The story setting may be a little ambitious and the character designs(from the same person who did GS/D) is getting a little boring, but the art, the music blew me off in the first ep. Giant monsters fighting each other, celestial-like beings being all celestial/godlike, a main char that is almost indestructable and a Hime with that wierd power. Sounds cliche. But it was actually neatly done.

The chemistry between Age and the Princess was so pure it was so cute. No lame romantic plots or damsel always in distress thing. I think, ironically, the two being apart most of the time made this couple seem more attractive than if they had spend the whole 26eps together trying to create "moments". But. Of course. They had their few moments. And because it was few, it was great.

Ok. About the plot. Hmmm... trying to resolve a universal war by travelling in a spaceship from place to place. And the hime is a guide? O_o HA! Sounds good at first but they became draggy in the middle. The prolonged battles between the 5 heroic tribe members wasn't helping. Reused footage, dumb roaring yadda yadda yadda... But at least the scriptwriters knew how to use the golden tribe as a mystery hence though sidetracked now and then, the story stayed on course, which thankfully, was to a wonderfully executed ending leaving much questions answered, yet adding alittle doubts here and there, but just enough to satisfy the casual viewer.

I like the music, I like the characters and I liked the ending. The story was about the journey of seeking truth and what a ride it was for me. Thumbs up!

Claymore

No. I'm not addicted to this anime just bcos of Teresa. But I gotta admit, this story of Claire's (not sure abt spelling) road of vengeance got me hooked after she appeared. lol~~

After Ep10 i just gave up resisting the manga!!! Its just amazing how the author manages to come up with more and more new and not uninteresting characters, death after death of the older ones. What's more the main lead has her own luring factor.

Everytime Claire encounters new counterparts, new enemies, I always can't help but wonder how nice it would be if Teresa was still alive...but then i will remember that Claire's a claymore because Teresa's dead...so the timeline doesn't work out ... and i sigh. Yet, as much as I miss Teresa, the characters taking over aren't that bad themselves. And that's whats so good about this story. It has sufficient substance to make characters exit stage right (or left) and still make it full of opportunities.

I need more Claymore!

Hitohira 初瓣 Ep1-7

I don't know where to start with this anime, but I just must blog about this. I guess I should do a general gist of the show.

Synopsis from AnimeNfo:
A transferred student Asai Mugi is a painfully shy girl. She is so shy that she can’t speak when she becomes seriously nervous. However, for some reason, she is spotted and recruited as a member of drama club.

My addition:
This drama club is actually called the drama research club founded by Ichinose Nono. By some twist of fate, she got to know that Mugi actually has a really loud and nice (i beg to differ) voice. So she gets Mugi to join and prepares her for the upcoming main drama performance of the year. This event is very important as it is a competition with the original drama club of the school. To put it more simply, it is a duel between Nono and her (ex?) best friend Sakaki Mirei, now chairperson of the drama club. The two fell out because Nono actually has a problem with her voice box, and Mirei, concerned, vehemently objects to her continuing with drama. But Nono, insists on continuing. Hence...

As usual, i can't seem to keep my focus on Mugi, the main lead. The chairpersons of the two drama clubs have stolen it all. = =a From their little bickering to Nono's small childish duels, the story shows comically, the camaraderie of the two despite the big fall out. And its just pure good entertainment to see how these two and the people around them respond to such situations. And with ep7, Mirei finally pouring her heart out, and that hug that just made me go ..."awww.....", I think they really have a wonderful friendship.

A simple story with a good direction and great naration of the interaction between the various characters.

Negima 2

Finally finished this 2nd installment of the series which tells a totally different story from the 1st. I thought it started off quite well with its better animation and very strong depiction of the 1st few characters. For example, Setsuna Konoka, Asuna and especially Evangeline. The show withered at the middle, though. Just trying to make fun out of nothing and getting Negi to make pactios with the rest of the class. Getting trapped in the magical world didn't seem to bother this class much as they still went round having fun, Asuna, disappointingly, being the lamest of all... = = It was around the 22 ep that things picked up, things involving the star-crystal finally coming to light. And all's well ends well I guess.

Just that I wasn't quite satisfied with how they tried to dump all the rescuing on Negi. Takahata, Evangeline or even his sister had more power than him, but somehow they were rendered useless so that he could do what a main lead is supposed to do. Could they have been a little less obvious?

Just one more comment on how cute Evangeline was. Quite simply, for me, she stole the show. Nobody can look so cute when she's pissed~~ lol~

And one final thing i need to scream:
Not enough Setsuna X Konoka emotional scenes!!! Plain foolin around dun cut it!!! Grhhh

Murder Princess Ep01

Come April and wala~~we have a new barrage of animes. Murder princess being one of them. This exchanging bodies thing is kinda funny, so i think i'll continue watching this.

I have yet to comment about October/November's release, but well...i'm lazy. Anyway's except for Code Geass, Soukou no Strain, Negima and Primo Passo (which i have been hot over heels over their game... XD) there were not many that were worth commenting... hmmmm....

Witch Blade Finale

Even though for most of the show, the story was boring and more of women with oversized bust fighting each other, i liked the progressing last few eps of the show. The mother-daughter interaction between Masane and Rihoko was surely the highlight of the show. The buildup of emotions from when Masane first knew the fate of those wearing the cursed thing to the final showdown was intense. Rihoko is definite one cute girl who is so understanding, it makes Masane's departure more emotional. And Masane's efforts to make sure Rihoko will have someone to look after her, that Rihoko will not be alone is commendable too.

What an ending.
No answers. Just endings.
We are shown what happens to the lives of our 12 siyuras, past and present.
The melancholic tone used throughout the episode makes even what should be happy seem tinged with sadness. No answers, just a revelation of the consequences of their choices, and viewers can decide what was done right or wrong.
What is tempus spatium? Where are dominura and limone? What about Amuria? What happens to the simouns now, since there is yet another war brewing? What exactly are simouns?
Well, those lazy cunning scriptwritters have just left it all up to the viewers... Sweet.

In the other world, Dominura decides to fly again, with Limone. As they leave hand in hand, their friend spots shiny flakes left behind...

Years (I assume) after, Floe or Floef (cos she's a male now) resides by the lake where arcus prima had fallen, growing vegetables. War is coming again and he and Viyura/f have been drafted into the military of opposite countries.

Rodaemon seems to have taken over her family business.

And still missing Mamina...

The twins have buried the hatchet and now live happily together with their father. Glad to see that.

Hehe. One of my favourite couple in the show and i guess, probably one of the more fortunate ones too. Waporif and Morinas ( i thought she wanted to be a guy...XD) married and expecting their second child already!!! They look happy and good together...

Yun... i still have no idea why she chose to take over Onashia... She looks sooo lonely in that oversized indoor "swimming pool".

Of course, our resident bishounens of the show. They get prettier as time passes... ooohh those glasses...

I think the most astonishing change in characters has to be Paraetta's. From shocking me in her choice to be female and to this... Running an orphanage, sponsored by Rodaemon that takes in orphans from the war. Such a motherly Paraetta is...unnerving...But i think i like it.

At the end, Floe says they helped Neviril and Aeru escape is a gesture of rebellion against the movement of time. That, after everything, they're just afraid of adulthood, of being forced to grow up. Their hopes are pinned on Neviril and Aeru. As proof that they have existed and are still here. That is... they are their forever maidens. 永远的少女.

So, what happened to those two?

So i skipped 2 or 3 eps. Because these 2 eps are great!
Their country lost the war, and the sivyuras have to go to the lake/pool/spring wateva, to have their sex changed.
But Neviril and Aeru are not going!!! They wanna go to the other world.
but Aeru is reluctant bcos she thought Neviril wanna go there to find Amuria. So, Neviril confess her love. In a very blunt way... with a poker face.

And in ep 25 Aeru beat that fantastic confession with an absolute ignorant question:
"Tell me. Why my heart hurts? you should know."
...
"it's bcos of koi(love)"

XD hahahahahaha~~~~

Their confessions of love are so flat it is hilarious.

Even though it's only 15 min, with a smack in the middle plot that i can't take seriously, i really like the directing of stargazer. I mean, for all the 100+ eps fukuda managed, not once could he make a zaku or grunt suit look so stylish and dangerous, with mere usage of lights and shadows.

Who would’ve thought, a simple recon mission would lead to tragedy. They weren’t supposed to meet enemy resistance. They weren’t supposed to have to engage. They weren’t supposed to be captured. They weren’t supposed to die.

But they did meet enemy’s resistance on discovery of a secret base. And Neviril's simoun was shot down.Mamina and injured Neviril were surrounded.

The priestesses from the enemy alliance somehow chose to save Mamina and Neviril. However, knowing that if they allowed both of them to escape, they themselves would be killed, Mamina chose to stay.

She leaves with saying "A-E-Ru". It bewilders me though, that the priestesses seemed very anguished.

Aeru sees Mamina lying unmoving on the deck and became very VERY agitated, in contrast to what happened after Dominura and the loli disappeared.

And of course. Rodaraemon was beyond grief. How would you feel if one moment you were happily tieing different hairstyles for one another and the next, before you know it, your beloved friend is gone forever. The shock, the pain...the loss. And it was just a simple recon mission.

In memory of Mamina. Throughout the show, she has grown from an ambitious soldier to a empathetic comrade. Her growing attachment to her Ojou-sama had gave me high hopes of where it would've led. And her departure makes it much of a regret. Adieu.

Damned. It was all angsty and character development, I forgot they were in the middle of a war. And in wars, people die…

Under pressure for being incompetent and driven by jealousy over Neviril and Aeru's recent closeness, Paraetta finally goes bonkers and jumps Neviril.

But unfortunately, Neviril's not really enjoying it.

This episode was slow and went back to showing us the feelings of the characters. Yun is more and more suspicious of the military. Neviril and Aeru take another step forward as Aeru shares with her her grandfather's theory of an alternate universe. Paraetta finally snaps and attacks Neviril. but Neviril gave up resisting once she realised it was futile and just stayed motionless. That made Para-sama wake up and ran off. She just ran off!!! What has the war done to her? And Rodo and Mamina have a more intimate conversation...And a deeper connection. Awww... that's so cute.

So many questions, so few answers. With two of their members MIA, chor tempest is once again crippled. But at least seeing the emerald remergion again has made Neviril wake up, even though her new found enthusiasm in strengthening the relationship with her partner is confusing. Well, at least she has her confidence back now. And good timing I say, as we can see the military of the country FINALLY trying to show that they exist. And they are such jerks.

puhahaha and for that she gets a slap. still the ever blunt aeru. but i really thought parietta deserved this awakening call long time ago. To protect someone is one thing. To hold the person like she is made of glass is another. Besides, Neviril really doesn't need anymore pampering. Great scene!

Hitori, Mada Hitori.
Dominura is shell-shocked over what she saw in the wheel, which we still don't know.
Waporif is full of regret over "defiling" the sacred simoun.
Morinas is pissed with waporif's attitude.
Parietta is failing in her attempts in trying to be second in command, with D's non-functional status.
Aeru is unknowingly contesting Parietta's command, and succeeding quite well.
Limone is so cute in that scene of trying to comfort Dominura.
Neviril is still lost. Duh.

My summary is to the point and very dry. You have to see the ep itself to know what brilliance it was to convey those points stated above with all the not too subtle and yet not too obvious emotions. My expectations are notched a little higher with every ep. =D

Dominura wants simoun techie Waporif to dismantle Simoun to have a look inside the wheel. Waporif struggles with his decision. Yes... Waporif is a male despite the... er... not flat chest. But that’s not what I’m concerned abt.

This ep was totally abt waporif and morinas!!!from the shower where waporif told morinas abt his past relationship with floe, to the lakeside where they discussed abt simoun being god’s creation or not, and waporif’s double meaning of “not being able to touch what is sacred” (I thought he was referring to both simoun and morinas, since she is a priestess too.) and finally to the resolution and the night visit to the priestess’ chamber. Waporif’s struggle to dismantle or “defile” what is the most sacred to his country and the people was expressed very well, even better, the hidden meaning of his feelings to morinas (at least that was what I thought it had...). Awesome scripting of this ep!

And did I mention Dominura went bonkers after seeing wat was inside the wheel? No i didn't. But I also don't know what she saw.

I regret not blogging earlier when i had the time...bcos now when i'm busy with my stupid attachment, I suddenly feel the urge to blog abt this wonderful anime. In the middle of the show, as usual... (It seems like i do not blog finish ongoing series...oh well.)

Call it yuri, shoujo, GL, watever. It's a fantastic show abt 12 girls' struggle within this war period in their universe. The emphasis of this show is not abt winning the war, but abt how the war affects the girls and bring out secrets and hidden skeletons that happened b4 or during the war.

Ep 13 was a great ep for the 2 main leads, Aeru(golden mickey mouse) and Neviril(pink lady). Aeru wants to try the emerald rimagon with Neviril and just hits her with the request oblivious to the fact that Neviril's previous partner died precisely bcos of that failed attempt. And so it's a "lover's" quarrel. Everyone's shocked with Aeru's lack of tact bordering close to being insensitive. But when Aeru asked "Nani?" I realised no one actually bothered to tell her abt such a touche subject or even warn her to be delicate with Neviril's feeling on this subject. I'm like.. O_O That's what happens when u dance around such touche subjects w/o letting the most brusque one in on the loop. Ha!

So, neviril once again goes into depression mood. And locks herself or isolate herself from the rest... but the fantastic Aeru, after hearing Floe's nonsensical version of wat is "suki" and totally accepting it, went to climb the ship and sneaked into Neviril's room... And surprising pink lady with a kiss. HAHA!!! It's so amusing and yet serious at the same time. I see this ep as a step forward and also a step backward in this relationship. What a nice tango.

Fate Stay/Night Ep 18

Wahahaha!!! This is the only ep which I thought was worth blogging, bcos Rin and Sakura's child form is just so kawaii!!! Haha! It's just a pity they glossed over the game's "Heaven's Feel"'s most touching scene like that. And the way they tried to fit the dialogue from the game into the show like that, without the necessary development in the game, just made it sound ridiculous.

Sakura, captured by Castor, is under the control of some spell, that made her wear that stupid SMish costume and attack her sis.

Then, flashback to their past... They had to be separated because a mahou family can only have one successor, hence the other sibling has to be given away to another family. (Not explained in the anime yet though.)

And so Rin, the heroine, rescued her long separated sister, sakura.

Just for comparison's sake:
Rin and dark sakura from the game, after Rin decided to save Sakura at the last minute, letting her sis create a large hole in her abdomen. I thought and still do think that this picture is beautiful. The game's a bore, but the CGs are fantastic.

Sigh... Now the only thing to look forward to is Archer's UBW (How's he gonna come back anyway?)... What a disappointing anime so far.

Review: Gungrave

From the name, we can guess that the genre is abt guns. Men and guns. A story about Brandon Heat and Harry Macdowell's climb to the top of the food chain in a world where everything is about power. From being small thugsters in a small town to their careers in the mafia organisation, Millennion, we are shown how the two friends fight and plot their way up... Well... Brandon's more in charge of the fighting and Harry, the plotting. The story begins by telling us the ending. where Brandon is obviously against Harry, and then bringing us back 20 years. It's an interesting way to start off.

Well, both guys are like brothers. Live for each other and die for each other. Brandon's quiet and reserved, while Harry's outgoing and ambitious. For me, I thought the junction where Harry and Brandon parted was when Harry willingly pulled the trigger against a small thug boss, just to get his money and prove to Randy (one of Millennion's bigshots) that he's capable of entering Millennion. Without remourse. I thought it was a significant turning point.

Throughout the show, we are shown how attached the two guys are, Brandon almost always risking his life for Harry. How Harry unscrupulously plotted his climb upward. How each and every kill affected Brandon and how it did not, Harry.

Brandon's love interest (not official couple bcos Brandon's a VERY quiet guy, but they have very obious undercurrents), Maria, is taken in by Millennion's boss, Big Daddy. For a boss, Big Daddy is exceptionally kind toward Brandon, becoming a friend and sorta father figure. These three have a strong bond. So, when Harry's ambition became humongous, Brandon is forced to make a choice. Because Millennion has an Iron Rule: Those who betray Millennion must die.

And I guess that's the theme of the show.

However, it seems everyone has a different definition for "Millennion" and so the rule is thwarted in their favour. Big Daddy's "Millennion" is family, organization and balance. Harry's "Millennion" is him, since he wanted Millennion all for himself and saw it as his possession. Another guy, Bell (i think that's the spelling), keeps repeating that he's loyal, that he will never betray yadda, when in real truth, everytime he says that "he will fight, kill for Millennion, and never betray", the scenes always flash to his daughter, Sherry, who is Harry's love interest. So what's Brandon's definition? I thought that since he went against Harry in the end, his must be the same with Big Daddy's. But then...right till the end, he could not kill Harry. So, strictly speaking, Brandon is the guy who betrayed both sides.

Thus, everyone had their own set of definition, except Brandon. Which makes the rule kinda stupid. But it makes show have some depth since everything is not on the surface. Brandon's really a good guy, a nice guy, that's why he's the one being tormented. And, well, in this show's world, good guys don't have good endings. Sadly.

Good show. Though a tad bit sad.

New animes...

Ahh...I just realised I've not blogged anything for a month...
Tests, project deadlines and exams are shitty stuff...
Haha, but I still had time to catch most of the new animes in debuting in April.
From top of the list (most anticipated/excited/high expectations)
1.Nana!
Ha! I didn't really think much of it even when there was so much hype about it. I thought "what's so interesting abt 2 girls with the same name? And then, bcos I was so sianz of studying, I just when to download it and boy did the premier blow me of. The interaction between the two Nanas is hilarious. So I went on to read the manga and I was totally mesmerised! Ended up reading it instead of my notes for the exam. XD Eps 2 and 3 are about the noisy Nana, so I think 4 &5 will be abt the more aloof one. Ahhh... I wanna see 6 now!

2. Ouran Host Club
I love Haruhi!! It's been too long since I've loved any character of a shoujo manga/genre. Haha. Typical cross dressing in rich kids' school but yet still oh so effective comedy and rare touching scenes. Must watch!

3. The Melancholy of suzumiya haruhi (not sure if i got the name right)
Everyone off the animesuki board gives an A for this, so I got curious. Ep1 was.. HUH? But ep2,3,4 was hilarious. Not stop. Even funnier than the two animes above. I just think that that tyrant is so cute!

4. Girls High
Fan service fan service and more fan service. But very funny presentation of the girls' life in an all girls' high school. Haha. The most realistic description of girls in the show: IN the absence of the male species, girls may even be worse than boys.

5. Fate Stay/Night
Eh... this one started quite long ago and its at ep16 now. Hmmm... kinda disappointed actually, esp after playing the game. But it seems the story from here on will be diverging from the Fate story line... I'm just expecting UBW, black Sakura and hopefully(crossing fingers) saber will ditch Shirou and make a contract with Rin.

6. Strawberry Panic
Meh. All hype no punch so far. The animation is rather poorly done esp compared to the detailed grandeur of the manga. Don't even know if they have a proper storyline for this.

7. Black Lagoon.
Guns and wild girl, and a seemingly average joe that is so suay to be acquinted with these bunch of pirates. Seems interesting.

8. Tokko.
Eh.... not much opinion so far...just that it's R-15? O^O

9. Ergo Proxy
7 eps and i still have no idea what the heck this is abt... makes me wanna continue even more.

10. Witch Blade.
I think I'll be watching this just bcos the mother-daughter interaction is so cute!!!

Mai Otome Ep22 - hehe... fighting greatness. Tomoe and Miyu stole the show!

OMG. Sergei actually ADMITTED THAT HE LIKES ARINKO!!! And then blah blah blah... I didn't pay attention to the rest of the conversation.

Tomoe Tomoe Tomoe. You look hideous in that outfit. And the way you blush and go gaga over this power and the way you face distorts when you blurt out your past evil deeds and how you will take Shizuru, prestige and power with it. How ugly. BUT IT IS YOU WHO MAde THIS EP SO INTERESTING! I certainly don't like you, but I've gotta admit you do makes things much more livelier. Now i just hope there'll be a one-on-one of you against Natsuki.

Yay!!! Finally we get to see a meister otome die. And i think it was natural that Fia be the one. (after all that play up of her master being one scheming sinister guy.) Well, at least she died in the hands of Midori. That's compliment enough.

Nina going crazy. Looks like the gem has some dark influence on her making her go on rampages quite easily. But I'm actually glad for this development. The show has been quite mild in the angst department (arika and mashiro's angst looks quite baseless to me. Arika being naive and mashiro's was a long overdue introspect.) There is a serious lack in madness and well... Nina's expression in this pic totally meets my expectation!

Goodness. I thought Miyu was cool in HIME. But only from this ep do I think that her anti-materializing power is awesome. Snatching Mashiro and saving Arika in a flash, slicing Tomoe's element into half, piercing Sergei in the abdomen(cheers!!!), and going head to head with berserker Nina(Nina appears to be bolstered by the power of the harmonium)!! And this image of combining with bird Alyssa is magestic!!! Great going Miyu!

Mai Otome Ep21- Princess or not, Mashiro is the queen.

Frankly speaking, I was looking forward this this ep. Two things that attracted me. One was the fight between Nina and shadow Mikoto. I was hoping to actually SEE Mikoto. But no... just a few pseudo fight scenes and all I got was a back shot of an awakening Mikoto. WHAT THE?! It was exactly the same shot as the preview!!! This is cheating!

The other thing that kinda disappointed was the lack of follow-up to that outrageous shizTom scene at the end of ep 20. ( or may be they didnt show wat i wanted to see XD) But from the looks of it, it really happened. The nightmare really happened. And the lady who initiated the thing looks so damned bloody satisfied... "Pls forget everything that happened today" NO WAY! I wanna forget too!! But it's lotched deep in my cortex! The damage has been done!!!

But after greenhead left, we see that the cheerful (and quite retarded) Shizuru change into a pensive look, saying "I'll let you have your way for now..." T_T which can only mean one thing... But at least she didnt go nuts and retreated to the intellect of a toddler.

And what's with the toys? My guess: Tomoe has been deprived of motherlove and desperately wants some love and care, hence the fetish. And Shizuru apparantly has very motherly qualities which can mean Tomoe is living out her "childhood dream". Of course, more ugly and less innocent thoughts have been considered, but I'll just leave it as that, cos it pains to even think wat Shizuru has to go through if she was the receiving party...

Oh well the ep was not that bad. Two unexpected good stuff happened. AOI IS ALIVE! At least that's what I think after seeing Chie see someone in a hospital bed...

The other redeeming quality of this ep was undeniably(for me) also the highlight of the show. Mashiro's emotional struggle to save those people who literally forced Aoi to her "death" was quite moving. And yet while hating them she also recognizes that their hate stems from the fact that she hadn't been doing her job. And those past eps of seeing Midori lead her people show their use/effect here, and she finally chose to save her people and even begged Midori for sanctuary in exchange for... Gauderobe's technology???

Pardon me, but HUH? How can she go around offering something that does not belong to her??? Sunrise had better answer this question properly.

Next Ep: Mai's back with a ladle. I'm fascinated and intrigued. But given last week's stunt with Mikoto, I'm NOT gonna fall for the same trick twice!

Mai-Otome Ep20 - What the heck are they doing to Shizuru!!!

OMG. Not Aoi nor Ers nor anybody's death(except of course, Shizuru and Natsuki, but only bcos it'll affect Shizuru) in this show could illicit such heartbreak from me as this scene did. I knew Tomoe had the hots for her dear Shizuru-oneesama. I knew something like this was bound to happen to add oil to spice up the drama. But I just couldn't help having this intense compulsion of flipping tables and smashing chairs when I first saw this scene on 2chan.

Oh my dear dear Shizuru... It always has to be you who adds so much angst (IMO) to the show. Be it what you do or what is done to you... T_T

There goes my heart... it's in pieces all over the floor.
I know with all my heart, and believe so, that she'll never return Tomoe's love (they're so much similar in this aspect, as she has said)

The passiveness of her reaction (which is none by the way) towards Tomoe's advance shows it. But.. But...For me. A fan. My heart aches because of my belief that sex is an act that is done between two people who love each other. It's an act that serves to let two people feel as close as they can be physically. (I'm sorry, I'm old fashioned. but if people just wanted sex for fun and excitement, it just makes me wonder why don't they just go for more roller coaster rides??) For any party to participate in such an act unwillingly is just so sad. And this has to happen to Shizuru. Stupid Sunrise.

Sure, some may argue that Shizuru's a flirt so this is no biggie or that compliance shows she was not unwilling since she was free to reject if she did not want to. The first assumption makes me boil. Flirting around and being friendly to kouhais does not automatically means that she sleeps around. There's no logic in that deduction. The second assumption is debatable. How much "freewill" does she have to NOT comply? She's a prisoner. Kept locked against her will. Tomoe's presence only served to change the conditions of her cell. How I wish Ep21 will show us that Shizuru side-stepped this advance. How I only wish... However, if this nightmare really occured, the only explanation I can come up with for Shizuru's compliance is pity towards Tomoe, which means she was not unwilling. So... I can't see how Tomoe's fans can be really happy about this scene. If anything, all Shizuru, ShizNat pairing, and Tomoe's fans should be damn bloody angry and heartwrenched.

Oh yar...did I mention Arika finally understood the wisdom in the words "with great power comes great responsibility"? Did I also mention Mashiro finally understood what it really means to be a leader of your people? And i must not have mentioned the small yellow capsule shown in the corner of one of Nina's flashback scenes... XD But But!!! I must mention that Mikoto is finally coming back next ep!! THE HUMAN FORM THAT IS. XD

Mai Otome: Let the killings begin...

The "festival" has begun. T_T And in Ep 17, kawaii Erstin is victim number 1...Her death successfully sparked war between our two female leads with big weapons.

And in ep 18...Aoi!!! Noooo!!! This death was even sadder than Ers's. Kajiura's background song had much credit to this moving scene. She chose death over exposing Mashiro to the blood thirsty mob... Aoi Aoi Aoi... T_T Now I just wanna know how Chie will react to this news...

As for our beloved Natsuki...From being the suave, cool, calm, collected and composed Principal...she has finally succumbed to the EG fate set by the sunrise producers...I knew it was gonna happen... I KNEW IT! And i dun really like it...

From having only a few minutes of robe action to being scared of a snake... Ep 19's hitch hiking really finalised Natsuki's fate as an unwilling clown in the progessing doom of the story... Following Hime's flashing scene and absolutely hilarious hitch hiking in a bikini, Mai Otome has managed to do both in one scene.. Poor Natsuki... I guess Nao just had to be the one to do it... This settles the score for the one eye hatred back in Hime. But frankly, I'm a little disappointed sunrise had to have this installed for Natsuki. Worse thing was: Shizuru wasn't even around to pick her up. =D

But while Natsuki is fooling around, my dear dear Shizuru-sama is being cuffed and locked in a cage!!!! I'm angry! How can they do this to her!!! Natsuki had better do some rescueing soon! Or Tomoe may just beat her to it...

I just returned from their "Never Gone 2006 Tour" Concert in Singapore. And my $72 was sooooooo worth it!!! Or the remainder of the ticket that my brother so kindly sponsored for my 21st birthday!!!XD Haha. Oh well... I thought it was worth the price. I hope my friend (whom I dragged with me in the name of my most impt 21st bday XD) thought so.

No pics, bcos I have no money to buy closer seats, but from where I was, I thought their performance was fantastic. Occassional slip ups where the high notes are rather soft, and a technical glitch in the sound system when Brian was singing "All I have to give" (one of my favs!!! XD stupid indoor stadium!)

They started out with songs from their new album "beautiful woman" and another track, where they showed some of their moves. And of course, old songs. It's good to know they still have their slick moves from back then, but some dance steps were toned down (XD). I thought the "gentleman" dance moves of "All I Have To Give" was so smooth, slick and cool!!! Ahh...always wanted to watch them dance the whole thing out!!! Mwahahaha...~~~

Ballads were done perfectly IMO. (and also bcos the audience seemed to be more familiar with them) "I want it that way" had the most feel, "show me the meaning ...", "Shape of my heart", "I still" "Drowning" "More than that" "Crawling back to you" and many more...

The audience was great actually, giving much liveliness and playing their part in making the whole concert a wonderful experience (me is an exclusion haha). Screaming, chearing, waving, clapping, and most imptantly, singing along. But there was one time it became quite embarrassing where the boys asked us to sing 'climbing the walls' and the crowd just died off after singing a small/ short verse. Hahaha... But the boys took it in their stride.

Ah one thing to say, "the one" is really a piece that should be sung in their concerts. On cd, i really cant get that feel, but when they were singing and dancing, I thought it was such a great piece. It's such a "live" song. Ahh... I wanna watch it again!!! XXDDD

The final piece (actually it was encore, but who are they trying to kid XD), "everybody / backstreet's back" was chosen perfectly. It ended a wonderful night with one of their best singles at a wonderful note.

Great to have them back. And I think I'm in love with them all over again!!! XXDDD

I hope we wont have to wait too long for their next concert here XD. I love their performance. Backstreet Boys are the best!!

Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha A's Ep5-10

Fight fight fight!!! Nothing much to say about these eps, but the fight scenes are intense and damn well animated, something you'd never see in a typical shoujo mahou anime. Well, hayate the owner of the book, finally transforms into the big bad... and she really is powerful...

Look what she did to my precious Fate-chan!!! Sparkles... T_T reminds me of Hime...

Another mystery introduced in these few eps is the identity of the masked guy (reminds me of Gundam -_-). He keeps saving the Knights, attacks Fate (from the back!!! Underhanded creap!!!), and then turns against the knights by absorbing their power into the book, and then mislead Hayate into thinking Nanoha and Fate were the ones who killed them, by imposing the two of them... Oh yar, there are two masked men... =P

But Chrono finally gets them in Ep10.

And they are none other than Chrono's two mentors!!! They were under the orders of...hmm... some superintendent even higher than Lindi Captain. He set all this, He knew Hayate had the book, yet sponsored her living and helped the knights gather mahou for the book... all these so he can seal the owner with the book when the bk is completed. He set them up!

I really wanna see how this ends...And give me back the Kakoi Testarossa!!!

Mai Otome Ep8

Ep8 reveals more abt THE organ from ep7. Apparently, all the adults, excluding Nagi, know abt it. The war 50 years ago, was a fight for the possession of it. Now that it's presence is known to be in Windbloom, everyone's on edge again, and Natsuki is worried. And wonderously, she knows Arika and Mashiro have a contract. So the whole ep is abt Arika trying to find a way to nullify the contract and she ends up in Fumi's grave...along with past Otomes'. Mis Maria reveal to them the sad destiny that Otomes will have if the countries were to be at war again. Something similar to the Himes, you have to fight/kill/defeat your friends. Arika's defiant abt this fate, while Nina thinks she's quite ready if it were to happen ( T_T Nina-chan, I thought you were a nice kid... But I do think Arika's being quite naive here)

Ok, some things to note:
Miyu is introduced. I like her hat.

And ...OMG first Mikoto and now Alyssa-chan... She's a bird!

Miyu is really special. She can take off Arika and Mashiro's gem like nobody's business (when both girls surely tried their hearts out), and she see things nobody can! O^O

Nagi meets up with some guy in the bar, who happens to look 100% alike that Seare's guy in Mai Hime. So, we can all be sure he's up to mischief again and definitely has deep connections with the slaves and those envelopes.

Appearance of Midori. Seemingly as the bad guy. And leader of the Aswardos??? (man... good turned bad and bad, aka Nao/Miyu, turned good. =.=b Is Sunrise having fun or wat?)

And that kingdom which Otome is called Fia Gross, is in league with them!!!! Conspiracy!!! I smell big trouble soon.

Mai Otome Ep7

It's a nice bright morning. Sunrise finally does some good by treating me to a scene of my favourite couple relaxing...Together...In the BEDROOM...XD

Aww... The look they shared just made me go starry-eyed...

I know I know... I'm such a sucker.

Moving on. We are finally given Mashiro's background. How she grew up in the suspicion of being the fake princess... Making her become the brat that she is today.

When Arika carelessly brought up the subject in the heat of the moment (quarrelling again), she got a nice high-five on the face from the queen.

Yar. I pity mashiro. Not that i can like her for being so spoilt, but I can sympathize her plight. Always in fear that ur parents arent ur real parents...constantly living in the possibility that ur identity maybe false.

So. This ep we are introduced to the organ. (there's a long name for it, but i cant remember) It's THE organ.Mashiro and Arika accidentally stumbled upon it in the undergrounds of the palace. Mashiro pressed one of the keys and it produced a huge sound that spanned across...well...lets just put it as a LARGE radius.

The frequency was so high... or decibels too much...it shattered windows and broke Mashiro and Arika's gems.

Just nice, a slave appeared just so Arika could find out she could use the two gems hidden in her necklace. A quick exchange of vows, Master-Maid contract is established, activate Meister Robe, pwn slave. Finished. Man, Arika sure jumped a few levels this ep conveniently.

Special mention for Mikoto this ep. Bravely coming to Mashiro's rescue...hehe... Look at the fur. Don't play with the cat! XD

And this!!! This MUST BE the humanized Mikoto!! But... but... why does she look so alike a monk/priest...just look at that staff...

This ep was great. Natsuki Shizuru screentime was tentamount to nil but we fans were appeased just by that scene. I liked that they revealed more on the story...organ thing and the mystery that is "who's the real princess". And most of all... that mikoto is ensured to have some dialogue soon!!

Mai Otome Ep6

Remember Mai Hime's Ep4 where Natsuki flashes Mai and Mikoto and erhm...some guy?? Well, this swimming ep is the equivalent. And more! Nina's sensitivity to touch makes her the target for all ticklish pranks. While Shiho's maki maki turns out a tentacle monster which nearly cost Nina to drown, it also became a big huge ecchi creature that made me question the shows real age limit. =.=b

Of course, Nao comes to save the day...without first taunting someone... XD

She sure looks like she's having fun!

Hahaha!! I love this picture! THIS is Nina's idea of CPR. ( I wonder if she really knows how it is done.)

Mai Otome Ep5

We start off ep5 with a brand new morning...with our main protagonist dreaming of teasing Nina, when instead she's the one requiring pple to wake her up...
Erstin's the nice roommate while Nina couldn't even bother.

Picking up after ep4, where someone stole her uniform, Arika is questioned by the Tries abt why her uniform happened to be found in a shop and worse, in a torn state.

Arika's in deep shit. But there comes along some letter that offers to sponsor her education in Gauderobe. Arika's at a lost, confides in Nina who blows her off for whining so much. And she goes off to investigate on her own with the help of Nao...

Oh Nao... she's so cool... But she doesn't liked to be called Juliet... I wonder why.

So meanwhile, Arika and friends embark on their own (fruitless) investigation, meeting Sergay on the way... and u know... "sparks flew". heh.

Mashiro-sama living up to the reputation of Arika's nemesis, is delighted to hear that Arika has gotten herself into trouble in such a short time.

And she ran all the way to the school just to laugh in her face... =.=b what can i say... kids...

Newsflash: Aoi and Chie KNOW EACH OTHER!!!

I forgot what's the specs girl's name. But anyway, her bulb 'tinked' when she saw Mikoto and claims she solved the mystery...MIKOTO IS THE CULPRIT! It tore Arika's uniform in the process of stealing it, but left it somewhere. So the illegal sale of uniform and tearing are 2 separate issues!!

Or so she says...

I think only Arika and Mashiro bought the story. They're such a pair.

And the real culprit is ------ Tomoe and her henchman/woman. Man... I thought she'd have better meaner ways to oust her opponent. This uniform fiasco was low.

Mai Otome Ep4

Haruka's back!! And she's no longer just a mad woman ranting off, she is a meister otome with real powers this time!!!! And of course!! Yukino is back too!!! And this time round, she's the master (president of some country) and haruka's the... well... maid. So, haruka saves Mashiro's coronation ceremony from becoming a disaster, while Yukino actually managed to get Nina to stay and Arika to be enlisted!!! Three cheers for another big comeback of the old cast!

More information is revealed this ep through Natsuki by explaining to Arika the what not to dos. Apparently the otomes are not allowed to have any sexual intercourse with males, as the nanomachines will disintegrate in the presence of a substance that is associated with sperms... So, marry=no more otome.
So, Arika is admitted, but unlike the other students, she has no country nor rich family to pay for her school fees/expenses etc, that means... well... she'd probably be working her ass off to get the money...lol.

Another titbit: The pearls have to look after the well-being of the corals. Kinda like a stand-in maids. Since the pearl population is half of the corals, each pearl has 2 corals to serve her... And surprise!! Nao's petite souer (for a lack of better word) is Nina. And more surprise!!(not really) Nao is still sneaking out of school late night... haha ^_^b loving her more with every appearance she makes.

Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha A's Ep4

We are introduced to the kawaii side of the new antagonists and Fate-chan!!!! Her introduction to her class was sooo kawaii with her blushing and Nanoha blushing (dunno why) BUT!! The highlight of this ep was definitely the new "power up" scenes. The part where the two magic staffs loaded their catridge component with the sound effects had a majestic feeling. ...Or is it just me getting all hyped up for battle round 2??? ^_^

Mai-Otome Ep3

Nagi somehow tricks the brat, Mashimaro, into having a match between Arika and Nina to decide who stays in Garderobe. And the match is held on the day she is crowned princess as an entertainment show. OoO In order for Arika to battle, she is infused with a dose of Nanomachines which is activated by Shizuru's gem... through a hug... ^oO (Natsuki seems jealous...hehe)

The match starts, and Nina is not holding back (not surprising, since she doesn't really like Arika). Thus, Arika gets whacked but still holds out...
Meanwhile, Shizuru discovers an intruder and battles him...which leads to the utter destruction of the just completed reconstruct of the palace -_-b Oh well... building collapses, people in danger, and many royals to protect and pacify. Seems like Ep4 will be busy...

Magical Lyrical Girl Nanoha A's Ep1-3

Nanoha A's 1st ep was fantastic. From the start, where both girls looked at each other's photos and blushed oh so kawaiily, to the thrilling fight btwn Nanoha and the new girl (which she surprisingly lost), this debut of the sequal was a real enjoyment.

Ep2 carried where the previous one ended, with Fate suavely saving Nanoha in the nick of time. But!!! The new girl has friends too!!! So she ends up getting in deep shit.

Finally, when Nanoha decides to use starlight breaker to help break the deadlock/barrier, a scary hand appears out of no where to absorb Nanoha's magical powersource into some book. It's such a sneaky and low move!!!!

In the end, even though the "bad guys" retreated due to Nanoha breaking the barrier (whateva imptance of it is lost on me), Nanoha's team really suffered a big defeat here. But, this just all makes the 2nd ep awesome!! The animation was top quality. Hardly any fights of recent anime had such umph in it.

Finally, in ep3, they have a proper reunion!! In Nanoha's hospital room ^^b And this scene was done very well, with all the subtleties of their emotions!!! I just fed off the undercurrents haha.Awww... don't they just look so cute. ^o^

Mai-Otome Ep2

Oh well. Ep2 lacked ep1's action, but made it up with lots of comedy. Arika's infatuated with being a maid, while Nina's good intentions of helping Mashiro-hime just seemed insignificant to all other members of the council(whoever they are). Man... Mashiro's such a brat here. Conclusion of Nina's hearing, which took place while Arika was being chased around by other otomes (cool intro for Nao and Chie by the way ^_^), is for a battle btwn Nina and Arika to decide who stays.

Ahh... Shizuru is still her old self as usual.

See!! Arika's so popular even BEFORE she enters the school. Can't imagine what'll happen when she's admitted...

Mai-Otome has started (definitely no GSD withdrawal here) and the first ep just rocks!!! Some complains though: If only they had more of Natsuki...If only Shizuru's costume weren't so...purple ^^b. BUT! Shizuru's cool debut just kicks ass! Looking forward to ep2!

Oh man... looks can be deceiving. Anybody who dismisses this show just bcos it seems like a typical shoujo mahou anime is really missing out. (of course, if u don't like shoujo at all then...) What can I say。。。有种找到金库的感觉/惊喜. Heh.I thought the 2 mains were done very well, and the focus was done nicely such that the supports were necessary and yet at the same time insignificant in that they didn't take up much screentime (so there's more for the 2 main girls ^_^) the animation was really very polished for an anime of this genre and low profile. best thing is: There a second season!!! Yay!!!

Definitely an underrated anime. I give it 8/10 (cos the first 4eps were not that good, but the rest sure rocked!)

GSD Final Ep

It's the end. Well... I liked the action. I liked the eye-candy. I liked that Athrun totally owned Shinn (Non-seed and seed mode). I liked that Orb didn't get obliterated.

BUT! I didn't like that Cagalli didn't even get to say a word in the ending. I didn't like that the ending never gave much as to what happens thereafter especially for Shinn, since he's the main lead, and all he did was start bawling when Messiah fell. I didn't like the wierd and unexplained decision of Talia to stay with Gilbert to the end. I didn't like that Rey's final decision was so abrupt and illogical. Man... This could be a long list. Basically, this ending didn't FEEL like an ending as there was no feeling of closure to it. Too many loose-ends that i feel the writers should not be so lazy to leave out. As ompared to seed's ending (yes, I'm comparing because destiny IS sequal) this one really has no impact at all. In all, quite disappointed.

18+ minutes on Mia's lifestory. As if we couldn't figure out that - she was approached behind closed doors, had surgery, was excited abt impersonating Lacus, eventually went delusional abt being Lacus, have a crush over Athrun and totally taken in by Gilbert's sugar-coated speeches - ON OUR OWN!

If this was shown sometime ago (not so near the ending!!) and if there wasn't a recap like 6eps ago, I wouldn't have been so pissed.

Destiny Plan: Ur life decided by ur genes. No more disputes, no more arguments. Everything is settled by fate and u have to succumb to it.

So the whole story of the show was freedom to choose ur life vs ur life being decided for you aka

Gundam Seed Destiny ep46

After destroying the requiem and its moon main cannon, Dullindal orders a "vacation" for Minnerva and the moon squad. Meanwhile, onboard AA (on Corpenicus, i think that's how it's spelt), Athrun and Kira discuss abt Shinn and Dullindal. Athrun expresses his disbelief with Kira's loss to Shinn, and Kira says he was hesistating to attack Zaft and was more worried abt getting Cagalli back to Orb safely (There. We have it. He was distracted. Stupid plot device to make the Ultimate Coordinator lose.)

So, we have Lacus and co going on a shopping spree. A break for her since she has been living in ships ever since dunno when (AA then eternal). And well, we sorta have a comedic scene when Kira absolutely irritates Lacus-sama with his "oks" and other quite nonchalent replies on the clothes :) (it's such a typical bgr scene i find it so cute)
Left: Hehe... nv seen Lacus with this face before. It's good to see the lighthearted side of her, suitable for her age, once in a while...
Right: Then, they received a msg from Mia's Haro, saying "Help! I'm going to killed!" (hehe ^_^" don't ask me. I didn't know their english were that...)Knowing it's a trap, they still went for it... much to Athrun's exasperation.

As expected, they were attacked. And amidst the chaos, the 2 lacuses finally get to talk...somewhat.

While they were talking, Athrun pulls off some cool stunts, proving he's the ace when it comes to hand-to-hand combat. <33 When they thought the coast was clear, the cliche scene of "blocking a bullet for someone" is pulled off by... *drumroll* none other than our Miss Mia Campbell!!! Crap. She saved Lacus. (oh well... it was her who instigated this assasination attempt anyway :lol:)

So here's the reaction from Athrun over losing one of his harem member (right bottom pic)...Seriously, he's crying a river. Over Mia. He only shedded a few tears over his father's death and he's bawling over Mia??? Talk about drama...

No mecha action, but some story movement and more character interaction, esp ShinnxLuna to make it make more sense, and Athrun & Kira finally talking abt Shinn. But, didn't really appreciate the producers' wierd way of handling Mia's death. What was her "heroic" death supposed to accomplish?

As we all know, even if she won, things would always go back to square one...and as usual, Nanaho gets the short end of the straw >.< kawaii sou na (haha, her image totally "ruined" by Pikoto-chan)

I thought this ep was kinda lame at first with the trading/game card thing. But i watched the subs and found it real funny and enjoyed it. Pure comedic really is what makes gokujou fun. Gloom and angst really don't suit it =)

Witch Hunter Robin Review

After MONTHS of downloading, I finally finished this series. I really was very interested at the beginning. The gloomy and dark feel intrigued me, and the animation was top-notch. The main lead, Robin, was a mystery that pulled me towards the show. Rather arrogant, silently, and green in some areas when she first started, she was humbled somewhat by the seniors like Amon and Kawasumura. But she took it in her stride and accepted the lessons gracefully. When she finally was in control of her powers in the early eps, I thought much more was installed for us viewers. However, the middle part of the story failed to engage. Many episodical events, mainly on the hunts of witches by the STNJ and how circumstances affected different witches to react, and do what they did. I won't say that they were unimportant, as they somewhat affected Robin's conflicting views of the witches and how she will come to terms about what she is. But there were just too many of such eps that it degraded to unnecessary filler. The story picked up at 14/15 but went downhill again. After that, even when more was revealed, the show just did not pack enough suspense and thrill to get back that enthusiasm.

Another show that shows how ignorant and ugly human nature is:
We fear what we do not know and we twist what we cannot have into something ugly. Jealousy and the huge crave for power...

Overall: 7 (it would've gotten an 8 if the story weren't that predictable and Amon not that dislikeable)

Who cares if this ep was about Zaft owning EA(AGAIN!) and Jibril finally getting killed and Shinn and co "shining" against Destroy grunts and having SxL moments(bleh). This ep for me was all about the resolving of Athrun and Cagalli's relationship problems!!! But!! As usual...Fukuda fucked this up for me!!

Poor Cagalli with shitload of work to do!!! While Athrun and Kira have some talk elsewhere...

So here, Cagalli announces some stuff(will edit when i watch the subs)

And then!!! TADA!!! Big close up of....NO RING!!! Blardy shit! And he's surprised. (What shit) Slightly taken aback. What is he thinking?? I expected more.

For the love of God. First, she takes off the ring (for many fans, that is like calling it quits, cause the show has placed alot of emphasis on the ring). Now she gives away Akatsuki to Neo!!! Granted, he's a better pilot, and since she can't leave Orb, it'll be in better use. BUT!!! This means Cagalli won't be in any action in the finale battle!! I wanna kill that Fukuda already!
So Cagalli's not leaving. And she has taken off the ring, that should spark off red alert. But then, that Athrun guy seems to know where they're going and just looks on as she leaves. Kira and Lacus seemed to be more worried than the guy. Come on man, at least talk to her. Have a decent conversation!! (I'm gonna blame this on Fukuda again!)

Something he said, abt them having the same objective. So, he doesn't need to be hasty.

And then, we see Cagalli talking to Meyrin. (So much for the spoiler hyping it up to be what shit, and i cleverly fell for that) A few lines of entrusting Athrun into Meyrin's care. She sounded all nice when she was talking, but once she turned, the tears came. Does Athrun really know where the relationship is heading??? Somehow I think Cagalli has a different perspective of it, in the details of course.

the spoiler said that this ep will tell us if they're over or reach a higher level.
Sorry for my lack of intelligence, but I absolutely don't see them achieving any of the two. If anything, it's still dangling in the air. WTF! I like both characters and I really wanna see them together, but will take it easy if they're not(better be a good reason for it though!!) I just don't like what Fukuda is doing to them. TO ME! Putting me through all these unnecessary angst and suspense!

Lacus finally shows Mia how's boss. Look at how Mia needs a script but even with it, can't utter a word of rebuttal.
Ok, Jibril risked his ass just to press the fire button of Reqieum to kill millions...is he a maniac or what?

The beams can bend and last long enough to slice through the colonies... The intended target was the one where Zaft's high council is, but one of the deflectors' position was altered due to hammering by Yzak's squadron, so in the end, 3 colonies were destroyed instead.

After this tragedy, of course everyone is shocked, by grief or its crueltly. AA, after getting over the initial shock, come together to discuss abt Dullindal's Destiny Plan.
*Note how Meyrin is standing next to Athrun and not Cagalli... Arghh!!! I wanna strangle Fukuda already!!!
Not very sure what DP is abt, but it's something to do with letting the genes decide how everyone will live (jobs, position etc). Basically, everyone is put where they should fit and everyone's happy so no more conflict = no more war. Of course, AA and CF ain't gonna allow such strifling of the people's freedom. Athrun and Kira clasps hands determined to fight together against it.

Even though 3 Plants have been destroyed, he's still smiling... i guess all these fuel added to the flames of war will just make it easier for pple to accept his peace proposal.

Kira had a hard time with Legend+Destiny team but i wouldn't say he sucked, cause that would be undermining the strength of his opponents. Shinn didn't go seed, but he had Legends 18++ beams to back him up along with Rey's brains.

Hehe... it appears the palm cannons/beam/wateva really is useless unless it gets up close and personal... Won't work on fast flyers like Kira!

Majestic and magnificent Infinite-Justice appears!!! (well it looks like that only in this pic) Not really a great entrance with "goosebumps" like SF with Athrun's screaming.

Onto Shinn vs Athrun. Even though the seedmode battle was short-lived, I suppose the highlight was the TALK. Which this time, wasn't all that boring. Apart from just saying not to shoot Orb, Athrun made Shinn think again about what he really wanted, and that he should understand where his anger was coming. And Shinn REALLY was thinking. But you know, was sorta overwhelemed by all the confusion(specifically pple rising from the dead) andgot even more confused with Rey's interruptions. And finally, his small brain short-circuited, making him spout stupid words like:"You don't know anything!! You're a traitor!!!" -_-"

Heh. I knew this would happen. Stupid ASS (anti-ship sword) waving-and-stabbing move only works on Destroys and grunts. Kira got his vindication last ep with that samurai move, and Athrun does it with much more common sense - move aside.

Athrun finally ends Shinn's winning streak!!

At the end of it, Athrun really over-exerted himself. And, we celebrate the rekindling of a beautiful relationship!!! Murrue deserves it.

Ok. Time for Cagalli's speach, which was rudely interrupted by the fake!!

Gundam Seed Destiny ep42 - Some pics

Wat can i say?? This ep rocked! With all those budget costs scrimped on ep41, I wouldn't have expected less. Boy did kira showed Shinn who was the best pilot. Shinn did hold himself well after he went seed, but that big sword swinging move was getting old and predictable, not that difficult to dodge for pilots of Kira's calibre. Pity Kira still had his no-kill policy, or else Shinn'll be dead already (or maybe many eps b4). Of course, the brat with a pea brain took his mercy as a deliberate insult and got enraged. Wat else can we expect from such a naive and biased person.

Ok. Cagalli got pwned. But it was expected as she was up against Zaft's ace, and best gundam. So, I thought she fared quite well, able to dodge/reflect some beams. i'll give her credit for having guts to take on Shinn/destiny on a melee fight. That's what i call FIGHTING SPIRIT!

NOW. On Lacus. I think she is like the devine being created by Fukuda to help strays to their right path. Kira, Cagalli and now Athrun. Just a few sentences and Athrun's back to the justice guy we knew from back at the end of GS. They could've just let them meet in ep24/25 and have a nice talk. Maybe, Athrun need not have wasted time walking in circles... Now, I just wonder what would happen if she had a heart-to-heart with Shinn XD

Yet another recap... in the middle of THE Orb battle, not to say... =.=+
And this time, we have Athrun undergoing some self-evaluation on how his character was reduced to stupidity over his insecurities/getting played by Dullindal blah... In all, I'm just really disgusted by the writers who had to degrade Athrun's character in Destiny, just for him to get back to the same conclusion at the end of Seed. I mean, if this had to happen, then what was all those inner struggles and conviction in Seed for??? And as for Kira's dialogue...well, i like him, his awesomeness in Freedom and unwavering loyalty and conviction to Lacus and Cagalli and all. Demo... did we really need half of an ep's precious screen time for this??? In all, the only thing that is good abt this ep is the new scenes in the OP. All the gundams of the characters have been updated =D

Cindy becomes kaichou this week!!! And all because she told a lie(damn big one) to her mom in overseas, who's coming to visit! Her mother with her terrible nihon-go arrives and hilarious stuff ensues. The people who had to endure the worst of the lies are none other than the real president and two VPs. But... it seems... Kanade is having a great time playing maid, while Kuon, posing as maid too, was supposed to give a massage and scrub the new Kaichou's back and Nanaho, posing as the boyfriend, has to give...a goodnight kiss?? (XD)

Haha... I liked that in the previous few eps, the series gave us some background on beloved Kuon and other characters. But I sure missed the light-hearted comedy that this show provide effortlessly. Great ep!

Summary: At the award ceremony where Shinn is given his 2nd nebula(incorrect spelling) award, and together with Rey, was promoted to Faith, Zaft recieves intelligence that Jibril is hiding in Orb. They demand the Orb govt to hand him over, but Jona gives some stupid speech denying Jibrils's presence, which Zaft interprets as an insult and mockery to them. And so, battle ensues. Cagalli being hotheaded as ever is adamant to burn with her country -.- Obligingly, Kisaka hands over her new MS, Akatsuki, which literally blinds her (haha =P) at first sight. It's Uzumi's unrevealed will, if Orb ever faces the flames of war again...
And so, Cagalli kicks ass with her new suit!!!!!

After Minamo threatened to expose Kotoha's secret of being a member, she could only agree to let them tag along...and what did they bring??? Picnic box...and gameboys!!! =.=b

So the spying mission brings an interesting revelation... the new girl is associated with the guy in the pic with Kuon (see ep15)... and Kotoha finally understands Kuon's predicament... And so, after arranging with Nanaho's 4th brother to capture the pair, Kotoha apologizes(sorta) to Kuon. And Kuon...of course lighthearted, now that all's good, teases her over her outing with Rino and Minamo. She points out that Kotoha actually wants to be with the rest...

Ah...after this ep... even though I'm still a rabid Kuon x Nanaho supporter, if somehow these two become more than friends...I won't mind that much ^__^

The student council dorm has finally been rebuilt. All rejoice! But Minamo being the hyper girl goes around snooping in on other pple's bedrooms...And she found THIS! (picture of Kuon and mysterious guy A)

So Rino got curious abt the VP and Kanade gave her some background of how she came to be in the student council...hehe and we are awarded with seeing a kawaii to kirei young Kuon-san!!! <3

Being out of time, Kuon made a desparate move and sneaked into Kanade's room. But she was caught by the Intelligence member, Kotoha(finally revealed). Not wanting to fight, she ran away. Kotoha gave chase, only to be stopped by Seina who, under orders from Kanade, revealed to Kotoha that the three of them knew abt Kuon's identity right from the start...

Meanwhile, back at the dorm, Nanaho was worried abt Kuon as she noticed her behaving strangely. She had her doubts abt accepting Kuon as a member at first, but Kanade insisted on bringing her in. Kuon became an agent unwillingly for that organisation. In the present situation, if her identity was exposed, she'd be sent away. If she succeeded in uncovering Kanade's secret, she'd still be sent away. Either way, she cannot stay. So right now, Kanade said it's their turn to help Kuon, like how Nanaho helped Kanade.

The only way is to let the current situation stay the same. Continue the stalemate. Kanade encouraged Kuon to stay on while Nanaho tried to discourage Kotoha in taking down/exposing Kuon. (not as bodyguard of Kanade nor VP of seitokai, but as a friend of kanade and KUON!!!^^)... And in order to take Kotoha's mind of Kuon's issue, Seina set her up to work with Gokujou's two most troublesome members - Rino and Minamo... As Kotoha put it: Nightmare. (next ep)

A tale with beautiful landscapes accompanied by melancholic music and heart-jerking emotions underlying the interactions between these characters. Yukito is one male lead that I have no trouble liking. The story ain't ground-breaking nor do they have some world-wide disaster to show the despair held by the characters. A summer tale of love. A mother's love for her daughter. An elder sis's love for her younger sis. A daughter's unrequited love for her mom. And a girl that never existed love for her family... And of course a guard's 1000 year love for his cursed winged princess...

9.5 out of 10 stars. I would've given it 10/10 if not for the wierd drawing of the tears. =P

Ever since the accident -- lines at which things break easily could be seen. If a blade could be passed through the line, anything could easily be severed.Troubled with this ability, young Shiki is given a pair of glasses by a lady he meets (Shiki calls her "Teacher"), which stops the "lines of death" from being seen. Thanks to that, Shiki was able to live normally up until now. And he was planned to live normally from now on too.But then, a letter to Shiki arrives. The head of the Tohno Household's - his father's - died. By orders of the new head of the household, he must return at once to the Tohno house.This story begins when Shiki, now a High School Student, returns to the Tohno Household.

here's my input:
Story is slow at the start (it always is), revealing shiki being an ordinary guy but having selective memory abt wat happened before the accident. His sister is being aloof and overly strict and there's a senpai in school that is apparently friends with him but he can't knowing remember her. Then suddenly, he killed a girl, dismembering her into 17 pieces, which he denies, only to see her waiting for him in the park next day. Her name is Arcueid. She is searching to kill the evil snake called Roa and demands his help, since he killed her and her power is diminished...as he spends time with her, he slowly ackowledges he's different from normal human, in that he can lines that when cut, destroys. And as the story progresses on, he slowly unravels the truth of his past and the secret within the Tohno household...

I can't say i don't like this series, but i can't say i do very much. Decent story, but not very outstanding. not much action, and 12 eps gave it very little time to develop other characters other than the two leads, which were quite well done in my case, esp for Arcueid. I weep for her. Fallen princess who was tricked into temptation. Shiki... well, i kinda got frustrated with his constant denial and runaway attitude at the start...but then he grew stronger (mentally, as they always do) and when decisions were needed, he made them decisively. No wishy-washy crap. i give points for that. Good anime, but it's best watched all in one shot for people who are inpatient with slow startings and heavy atmospheric settings.

Dacosta snoops around L4 colony and found some dairy with info abt Dullindal's "Destiny Plan".
Onboard AA, Cagalli and Athrun finally talk. Cags apologizes for trying to get married, and Athrun, for the events at Crete. He admited he made his choice too hastily bcos he was frustrated he could not do anything when Cags was working so hard for Orb, and then Junius 7 had to happen...But when Cags asked if there's really no hope left, interestingly, we are shown flashbacks of Shinn with innocent faces as Athrun gave a determined look, saying all's not lost. Meanwhile, back at eternal, they were being pursued by Zaft forces, labeling them as terrorists. When Andy launches in Gaia, they're sorta surprised that these "terrorists" have such technology...haha!

Of course, Kira came to hear of news of Eternal moving from it's "hideout". Worried (yay!! Kira shows concern for Lacus!! =D), and encouraged by Athrun (flashbacks to Mia refusing to leave with him makes me believe that Athrun knows that if Lacus is gone, fake or not, Mia BECOMES Lacus), Kira borrows Strike Rouge. No pink colour suit though, cos the configurations were set to be similar to Strike.

hehe reunion bliss. cheers for Kira x Lacus fans! finally some contact.. XD

So what if the show is named Destiny. Strike-Freedom has the most awesome debut!

Luna and Shinn... WTF!!! Where did this come from??!!! The more I watch this scene, the more I'm disappointed at the scripting. And Luna, sure I didn't like her(i'm sure i no need to reiterate my position on Shinn), but I definitely didn't know she's that stupid!!! After all that she'd seen and heard/eavesdropped, she actually called Athrun selfish???!!!

So Heaven's base is under attack from the numerous troops deployed by Zaft, from space and earth base. No problemo... one button is all it takes. Neilbrieg...sth..i dunno wat's it called exactly, but it's the new Weapon of Mass Destruction came out by Logos...I'm sure Zaft's side is in the pdtn -_-b

Destiny's entrance to the battle changes the tide
Destroy badass my foot! They're just plain sitting ducks, oversized and overhyped grunts for Shinn to showoff in Destiny.

Of course, after showcasing the new weapons, Shinn then tips off Legend and Impulse how to destroy the Destroys (no pun) by using Impulse sword silloutte's excaliburs...

Athrun's onboard AA but doesn't get to talk coherently this ep, so apart from crying at seeing Kira, his facial expression is that of pain. Sigh... wanna see him and Cags patch up soon...

Shinn...wat else does he see other than his enemy...wat else can he see??
This ep is boring... bcos the battle is so one-sided...but also maybe that I didn't like the pple who were winning =P

We start off this ep with Minamo's intro as Gokujou Seitokai's newest member. Of course, since she has made many "enemies" in the previous ep, esp Nanaho-san, many don't like it. But...Kanade-Kaichou always knows how to win hearts...esp Nanaho-san's -_-b Moving on. With the hostel under construction, they just have to make do with labs and meeting rooms...

some are happy..........................some are not!

Wateva the case, dear Kuon-san sure ain't fretting. She has her own home to return to and Cindy to fetch her... ^^b Back to the story... so now seitokai needs money... wat better way than to put up a play and fetch money through ticket sales - ingenius idea proposed by Seitokai's newest member. She's so helpful that she even wrote up the script and everything by herself!!! (Of course it's a lame play they put up =P even the members feel so, but since kanade is backing minamo...) ... Turns out, Minamo has a serious illness from young so her family always let her have her way out of pity...and of course nobody likes to be pitied, so...her utterly bratty and irritating behaviour. It's her way of rebelling. Nanaho and co found out. And things...go well...as they always do... =)

Well, this ep is ok...not very funny though...but as for characters wise...I can't help it!!! Everytime I see these 2(see below ^_^) together in one scene or having interactions, my imagination goes wild!!!! Esp the part where the busybodys gather outside the sickbay to eavesdrop... =D Besides, next ep is finally going to shed some light on dearest Kuon-san...my hopes are up too high already...

So, I have not been blogging this anime for quite some time. But that's bcos those previous eps were boring. Now, it's getting interesting =) Syaoran and co arrive in a new (cold) world, where there's a fairy tale that goes on abt a Princess living in an old castle who abducts children...of course there's a feather involved somewhere in the story. (i'm too lazy to pick it out) Thing is, the villagers here treat this fairy tale very seriously, esp when their children keep going missing. Hence, their hostility towards the visitors. It doesn't help that Sakura actually saw the Princess in action. Then, things start to go out of hand, Sakura chased after the Princess alone, and got kidnapped in the process. The villagers, seeing her disappearance as her having sth to do with the kidnappings, get violent with the other 3 guys...

I like the winter feel of this ep, and as usual, all 4 main char look good ^_^ esp Kurogane in this ep!!!!

Hmmm... just a brief summary for all who couldn't stand my bias commentaries in prev posts:
Dullindal delivers a logical explanation on his orders to persecute AA to Athrun, saying sth similar to "if they're not with me, they're against me, and I can't allow that". Athrun gets more mad. Then Mia overhears Dullindal and Rey's conversation, Rey suggesting that Athrun is useless due to his unexpected stronger attachment to AA and Kira. Dullindal says Athrun thinks too much for a soldier, and has an indictment ready for his arrest. Athrun, unwilling to be his war machine, escapes. Mia declines his offer to go with him. He stumbles into Meyrin's room, and she helps him, leaving the base in a gouf, with Destiny and Legend in pursuit...

Athrun!!~~~ <3 ^_^ Even if you've been as ass for the pass 20+ eps, you still look sooooo dashing...esp in the rain, in that cool red Zaft outfit!!!

Meyrin, the most insignificant one, suddenly jumped outta nowhere to rescue Athrun... Her contribution is most significant. Luna?? We start off with Athrun confronting Dullindal abt the recent orders to annihilate AA & Freedom. Shinn as usual is clueless and doesn't understand Athrun's disrespect...of course.

And clever as the chairman is, there is always a "beautiful", "just" and absolutely logical explanation. NOT! All that crap abt Kira being unfortunate/ill-fated, being thrown into the previous war w/o knowing his "role"... apparently Kira's role is to be the perfect soldier for Dullindal to control... so is Athrun and Shinn. Since Kira is not with him, he cannot "allow" such power to roam unchecked. Unchecked by whom?? Who else but the great chairman of Zaft.

Athrun's response??? Besides continuous "gichou"(means chairman), nothing else. He didn't even dare to retort when Dullindal brought up the whole "even Lacus is on my side" crap. SHE'S A FAKE!! Goddamnit! Expose him already. There were so many loopholes in Dullindal's explanation but Athrun failed to bring them up AT ALL!! The last sentence is an apt description of Athrun's stance now. The scene shows him thinking of Cagalli when they were first onboard Minnerva. She was arguing with Gilbert abt having power. What it means??? I'm presently too tired guessing.

Whereas the first one, I have some comments. Yes, it's impt to have a just cause. Kira's cause was to protect. Athrun's was to end the war swiftly, as he so believed in Dullindal's words then. Shinn??? To be able to protect everything important to him as so said in ep20 (or is it 21??). It's all just, but look at wat happened. The fact is justice is relative, not everyone agree on the same justice,(I certainly can't with Shinn's.) and that at times, they clash. Justice?? Sure, it may be stated clearly in black and white on paper... but what pple feel can't be restrained by that and they will always seek to have their own... and execute it.

Ok, there's been alot of debate going on in the forum abt Athrun acting wrongly, comparing Shinn and Athrun yadda yadda ... OVER A PUNCH!! I for one support Athrun here. Shinn's attitude was cocky, insensitive and intended to humiliate a superior. For one who has lost so much, you'd think he would understand Athrun's feelings. But noooo, he had to taunt him and gloat abt killing Kira. The punch was deserving. Demo, Athrun couldn't argue with Rey's point here, "We're Zaft" pretty much concluded everything. Athrun acted on emotions...like Shinn wasn't went he was fighting Kira, only that he had an order to back him up. But it's wrong to just blindly follow orders. In this way, every soldier can just claim ignorance of atrocities that they have done or are doing. It's every individual's responsibility to question and justify their actions. Following orders blindly is plain irresponsible and as guilty as the one who gave out the orders.

I can outright say Shinn nv liked nor respected Athrun from day one. That's why Athrun's performance and loss only served concretize this notion.
